Using a DC motor


1    1.) Click the “component” button on the left side toolbar then
click the P button on the left side of Devices caption. This is where you get the components you need.  See fig 1.


2.) Type the components that you will need in the keyword textbox. Now type in dc motor then double click the “MOTOR ACTIVE SIMPLE DC MOTOR MODEL”. The component will automatically be placed in your devices list. See fig. 2.


1     3.) Type switch on the keywords textbox then click “Switches & Relays” from the category list then double click on the “ SWITCH ACTIVE Interactive SPST Switch from the results list then click  OK. See fig. 3


1     4.) Now click on the MOTOR on the devices list then click anywhere on the drawing pad to place the components. Do this step on all devices to put it in the drawing pad. See fig. 4.


1     5.) Now we will add a dc supply. Click the sinusoidal icon on the left side then click DC in the generators list then click on the drawing pad to place the source. See fig. 5.


1       6.)We should add a ground for the circuit to simulate. To do this click on the pad button on the left side then click ground from the terminals list. Place the ground to the drawing pad.

Connect  all the components on the drawing pad your circuit should look like in fig. 6.


1        7.)Double click the DC source icon to change the value of the source. In the voltage textbox type in 9 for the output to be 9 v. then click OK. See fig 7.


1          8.) The circuit is finished. Click the play button on the lower left corner to simulate the circuit. Click the switch for the motor to run. See fig 8.
